Not only will the artists of the Country, Rhythm and Blues series entertain, but they will also help the communities they visit, giving a portion of ticket sales to local charities.
On Saturday, October 8, long-time Coral Reefer band member Doyle Grisham with The Mike Watson Band and fellow Coral Reefer singer, Nadirah Shakoor with her band, Outside Art, along with special guest, singer/songwriter, Kipper Jones, will bring their distinct brand of country-infused R&B, sprinkled with rock and roll and island beats, to Montana’s Bar and Grill. Local favorite, The Rhythm Raiders will kick-start the night off, warming up the crowd with their own version of rockin’ rhythm and blues, followed by the amazing talents of von Grey, an exciting new sister act that has shared the stage with Sarah McLachlan and The Chieftains, just to name a few. Not only will the ticket get you into one of the most unique sounding shows the area has to offer, but a portion of the ticket sales will go to “Welcoming Worlds” Charity.

Nadirah as the featured female vocalist of the early 90s Grammy-nominated, and MTV Video Award-winning hip-hop group, Arrested Development. More recently, Nadirah has expanded her musical reaches to include House Music through her popular recordings on Yoruba Records. Label founder and respected producer, Osunlade has dubbed Nadirah as the Queen of Yoruba Records which is one of the biggest House Music labels today. Their songs “Tree of Life,” “Pride,” & “Love Song” have already become house classics.
Writer of hits by Vanessa Williams, Brandy, Kenny Lattimore, Lenny Williams, Darius Rucker, Chaka Khan, and many others, Kipper Jones is also a singer who has recorded or performed with Luther Vandross, Babyface, Eric Clapton, Sly Stone, The Winans, Johnny Mathis, and the list goes on.
Nadirah Shakoor will be joined onstage by legendary Motown singer/songwriter, Kipper Jones to perform an intimate tribute to the legendary songwriting team of Ashford & Simpson. Singer/songwriter and Atlanta-area native, Mike Watson and his band will be bringing their brand of straight-forward country, rhythm and blues to the stage, joined by long-time friend and collaborator, renowned Nashville session player and Jimmy Buffett steel-guitarist, Doyle Grisham. Over the years, Mike has performed with, or opened for, such artists as The Freddy Fender Band, Confederate Railroad, Cheap Trick, Darlene Austin, Bill Haley’s Comets, Janie Frickie, and Melva Montgomery to name just a few, and most recently, his group, The Mike Watson Band, was awarded the 2011 Blues Band of the Year, by the Atlanta Society of Entertainers.
